The short version: we collect almost nothing.

VerseTurtle is meant to be a quiet, personal corner for Scripture — so it's built to know as little about you as possible.

Last updated: July 2026

In one breath: No account. No ads — ever. No third-party trackers. Your streak, your verse collection, and your reading progress live on your own device — not on our servers. Reminders are scheduled right on your phone. That's genuinely most of the story.

Who this covers

This policy applies to the VerseTurtle mobile app for iPhone and Android and to this website at verseturtle.com. Throughout, “we” and “us” mean the maker of VerseTurtle.

What the app stores

To make your daily habit work, the app keeps a few things — but it keeps them on your device, not with us:

  • Your current streak, points, level, and past activity, so your progress carries forward.
  • The verses you've collected and the themes they fall under.
  • Which chapters you've read and where you are on your reading path.
  • Your settings, such as your preferred translation, appearance, reminder time, and whether red-letter mode is on.

Because this information lives locally, removing the app removes it. We don't have a copy, and we can't see it.

What we don't collect

We don't ask for your name, email, or a login to use the app. We don't build advertising profiles, and we don't embed third-party advertising or analytics trackers that follow you around the web. There's simply no feed to feed.

Reminders and notifications

If you turn on a daily reminder, it's scheduled locally on your phone by the operating system. You can change the time or switch reminders off entirely at any point, in the app or in your device settings.

Purchases

The Golden Shell is an optional one-time upgrade made through Apple's App Store or Google Play. When you buy it, the payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own terms — we never see your card details. We receive only what the store needs to confirm the purchase so your upgrade stays active.

Email you send us

If you email hello@verseturtle.com — a question, a suggestion from the app's suggestion box, or a request for launch news — we'll have your email address and whatever you wrote, and we use it only to reply or to send the one update you asked for. We don't add you to marketing lists, and we don't share or sell your address.

This website

Like nearly all websites, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (for example, the pages requested and general technical details) to keep the site running and secure. The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. We don't run advertising trackers here, and we don't sell information about visitors.

Children

VerseTurtle is family-friendly and suitable for all ages, and it isn't directed at collecting information from children — because it doesn't collect personal information from anyone. If you're a parent or guardian and have a question, please reach out.

Your choices

You're always in control: adjust or clear the app's on-device data through your phone, turn reminders on or off, and choose whether to upgrade to the Golden Shell. Nothing is required to keep using the free daily habit.

Changes to this policy

If VerseTurtle adds a feature that changes how information is handled, we'll update this page and revise the date above. Meaningful changes will be described here in plain language, not buried.
